President's Message

Eric Schmidt

Dear AGC of Greater Milwaukee Members,

I am honored to serve as the incoming president of the Associated General Contractors (AGC) of Greater Milwaukee. As we embark on this year, I am inspired by the incredible work of our members and the impact our organization continues to have on our industry and our community.

As your president, I ensure that we remain a collaborative, forward-thinking organization, dedicated to fostering growth and creating lasting, positive change in the construction industry.

This year, I will focus on strengthening our partnerships, expanding opportunities, and continuing to drive meaningful outcomes for all our members. Collaboration remains the cornerstone of our success. We will work closely with AGC of Wisconsin to leverage our collective influence on key lobbying efforts and labor relations, ensuring that we are aligned on the issues that matter most to our industry. Additionally, we will amplify our voice in national discussions, supporting Rick Andritsch, the new AGC of America Board President, in his efforts to elevate the industry on a national level.

Member Engagement will be at the heart of our efforts. We will expand educational opportunities and continue enhancing digital resources to ensure members have the tools to excel in an evolving marketplace. Our approach to professional development will empower members through leadership programs, such as our Construction Leadership Council (CLC), which will continue to shape the next generation of leaders in our industry.

We will also focus on fostering new initiatives aimed at attracting and developing the best talent in our industry. Recognizing that the future of construction depends on both education and hands-on experience, we will expand our reach to include skilled trades students, ensuring a robust pipeline of talent for years to come.

As we look to the future, will continue to drive our approach to advocacy and negotiations. We will proactively support our labor bargaining groups, ensuring that we secure fair contracts that serve the interests of all our members. With upcoming contract negotiations, particularly with the Carpenters Union, we will stay focused on securing outcomes that align with the needs of our industry.

In addition, we are preparing for the Mega Projects that will shape our region in the coming years. AGC-GM will scale its services to support these large-scale projects through safety programs and educational initiatives aimed at both private and public stakeholders. By staying ahead of these complex projects, we will ensure our members are equipped to navigate the challenges and opportunities they present.

Finally, I challenge each of us to take an active role in growing our organization. Through new partnerships, increased member engagement, and a shared commitment to leadership development, we will strengthen our collective impact on the construction industry. We have a unique opportunity to build an even stronger association in 2026, and I am excited to work alongside all of you to achieve this.

Thank you for your trust and support. I look forward to a year of success, innovation, and collaboration as we continue to elevate AGC-GM and our industry.

Sincerely,

Eric Schmidt
