As highlighted in the Wisconsin Department of Revenue’s most recent Tax Bulletin, the Tax Exemption for building materials that become part of a facility has been extended to include public higher education construction contracts entered into on or after July 1, 2018.
The AGC of Greater Milwaukee supported this legislative initiative in the Spring of 2017, which was ultimately incorporated into the 2017 Executive Budget Bill. This legislation expands the scope of the original 2015 sales and use tax exemption, which included local municipalities, school districts, water and sewerage commissions, and private non-profit organizations.
